ANNOUNCEMENT
The Kingston Township Board of Supervisors held an Executive Session on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 to discuss pending litigation and personnel matters. No official action was taken.
The Kingston Township Recreation Commission will hold the Annual Easter Egg Hunt for resident children of Kingston Township from 0 to 12 years of age on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 1:00 pm; rain date is Sunday, April 5, 2009. More information can be found on the Township Website or by calling the Township’s hotline at 696-2063.
BUSINESS
1. Public Comments.
2. Public Hearing on the proposed Amended and Restated Police Pension Plan Ordinance.
3. Discussion on the Traffic Light conversion utilizing grant funds procured by NEPA-Alliance and matching funds from UGI Utilities, Inc.
4. Resolution 2009-3; Agreement to Authorize Electronic Access to PennDOT Systems.
5. Discussion on adopting an ordinance accepting the articles of Agreement between the member municipalities of the Back Mountain Community Partnership.
6. Discussion on the award of the Road Material bids.
7. Discussion on Escalation Fees due to American Asphalt.
8. Discussion on Line Painting and opening of the bids.
9. Discussion on projects for placement on the Long Range Transportation Plan update for the Lackawanna/Luzerne MPO.
10. Discussion regarding the Center Street Pipe Project.
11. Appointment of Mr. Charles Steever for a two (2) year term beginning January 1, 2009, ending December 31, 2010, and Joseph Youngblood for a one (1) year term beginning January 1, 2009 ending December 31, 2009 as Kingston Township’s representative to the Dallas Area Municipal Authority. The appointments are in compliance with the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Act 53 PA. C.S. Chapter 56, as amended.
12. Approval to purchase a Wacker Oil Injected rammer in the amount of $2,591 budgeted for 2009 from the Capital Improvement Fund for the Public Works Department.
13. Discussion on the Department of Community and Economic Development grant awarded to Kingston Township in the amount of $20,000.
14. Approve the repair to the Administrative Building’s heating system in the amount of $1,240.
15. Discussion on the installation of a street light in the vicinity of 11 Carverton Road.
16. Appointment of a Civil Service Commission Member to fill a three (3) year term to expire December 31, 2011.
17. Appointment of a Recreation Commission Member to fill the unexpired term of Karen Rose, term to expire on December 31, 2009.
18. Authorize Township Manager to advertise for Summer Recreation Counselors. (one (1) Supervisor, Five (5) full time counselors and three (3) part-time counselors).
19. Request of the Public Utility Commission to hold a Public Hearing in regard to Aqua Pennsylvania’s rate case with the PUC.
20. Approval of the 2009 Spring Clean-up rules.
21. Schedule Spring Yard Waste Pick-up for the week of April 20th through April 24, 2009.
22. Set date for Spring Road Inspection.
23. Comments on the Monthly Reports.
24. Comments on the 2-28-09 Financial Reports.
