Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification

Kingston Township Police Officer Robert Spencer attended and successfully completed the Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) Certification course. The course, held at the Pennsylvania State Police Hazelton Barracks, took four (4) days to complete. The class comprised of classroom instruction, hand-on work with car seats and vehicles and a community safety seat check. The National Child Passenger Safety Training Program, which is partners with The National Child Passenger Safety Board, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Safe Kids Worldwide, provided the training to the officers.

As CPST's, the officers will put their knowledge to work through a variety of activities, including child safety seat checks where parents and caregivers receive education and hands-on assistance with the proper use of child restraint systems and safety belts.

If you are a resident of Kingston Township and need assistance with a child restraint, call the Kingston Township Police Department at 696-1175 and schedule an appointment. Also, look for scheduled child safety seat checks in the near future.

STORMWATER COLLECTION AND CONVEYANCE SYSTEMS

“Kingston Township MS4 Program Discharges from municipal owned stormwater collection and conveyance systems in Kingston Township are regulated under the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) program. The goal of this program is to eliminate the impacts that discharges from these systems have on the health of our local waterways. When it rains, chemicals, oils and grease, debris, litter and sediment which may enter these systems can contaminate and adversely impact the quality of our waterways. The residents of Kingston Township play an important role in minimizing those impacts by understanding the importance of how these systems contribute to the health of our local waterways. Therefore, we have provided links to educational material developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection below so our residents can be better informed of how they can participate in improving the quality of discharge from the municipal stormwater systems.
